Paddy’s Creek

Paddy’s Creek planting was started back in 1989 by an elderly lady by the name of Edie Franks. Upon moving to Bangalow and learning about the Big Scrub she decided to leave a living legacy in the form of a rainforest along the creek. She worked for 10 years planting and weeding to create this wonderful corridor, all on public land. Edie has now left town but the work carries on. The planting spans both banks of the creek and is approximately 1km long. Trees are now seeding and this area has become a wildlife corridor.

Bangalow Landcare now maintains the area when needed but mostly the work has been taken over by another caring neighbour to this creek so the planting will continue.
